We have known that you can share your Instagram Status to WhatsApp and Facebook. However, there is currently no ability to do the same on WhatsApp. In fact, WhatsApp Stories is pretty barebones at the moment with no ability to customize the text and other filters.
However, we might soon see a new feature being added to WhatsApp Stories. This will be the ability to share your WhatsApp Stories to apps such as Facebook with a logo shown on top which reveals that it was first posted on WhatsApp.
We know that Facebook owns WhatsApp, same as Instagram, but WhatsApp works very different from Facebook. On Instagram, we have seen quite the influence of Facebook but the same cannot be said about WhatsApp. However, things might be changing as we now see more and more features from Facebook’s other apps coming to WhatsApp.
However, WhatsApp has not been redesigned for a long time and we might see that next year too. Currently, we are talking about a report from The Verge which reveals that WhatsApp is “testing a feature that will let you share your Status to Facebook or Instagram, as well as other services like Gmail or Google Photos.
This feature will not require you to connect your Facebook account as it is based on sharing API of iOS and Android. Now, this is done because Facebook wants to maintain WhatsApp’s reputation of being the most private communication program out there. WhatsApp currently protects users’ chats with the help of end-to-end encryption. This means that users are still sticking to this service even when Facebook is criticized right, front, and center.
But we believe that Facebook will not let WhatsApp work independently anymore as we have already heard that ads are coming to WhatsApp Stories which is one of the things WhatsApp’s founders said they would never add to the platform.
