Well, there is still a way to set an alarm on your MacBook with the default application. You can set an alarm on your MacBook with your Calendar app. This is with the help of setting an event inside the Calendar app which is not exactly an alarm but it works. You can set the event with an alert and choose any custom sound.

2. Use Reminders app to set an alarm

Another possible way is to set an alarm as a Reminder. This is similar to the event inside Calendar where you will be ‘reminded’ about the task. You can set a Reminder and select the repeat period and your reminder will be set and you will be notified after that.
