How to mute your sounds on Zoom
Muting your sounds on Zoom steps are different for each kind of device.
If you want to mute your audio from the beginning of a Zoom call, then you have an option for that. Tap on the Join option in the Zoom app to join a meeting and then, enable the toggle next to “Don’t Connect To Audio“.
You can use keyboard shortcuts to quickly mute Zoom on Windows. On Windows, press ALT+A and press Command+Shift+A on Mac.
For Android, the process is different and you will achieve this by tapping on the screen and next click on the microphone icon which is placed in the left side corner of the screen.
How to unmute yourself on Zoom
These steps are quite opposite to the above steps. To begin talking on Zoom, you just need to tap on the unmute button next to the microphone icon on the Zoom.
For macOS users, they can use the keyboard command Command+Ctrl+U to unmute Zoom call.
How to mute or unmute others on Zoom call?
To mute other participants on Zoom, you have two options. You can either turn off the speaker audio or mute manually on Zoom.
- Launch the Zoom app and create a meeting.
- Tap on the Participants tab at the bottom.
- Now tap on Mute all at the bottom. This step will mute all the Zoom participants.
- Or you can mute or unmute selected participants by tapping on the name and selecting mute or unmute option.
